Quality Center Test case full path download add-in tool

Hello All,

As we know we can`t get full path of TC with in QC and to get it through QC SQL reports we have to create an extra userdefined field, even if it doesn`t get the path of old test cases.
To over come all this issues I have prepared this add-in, using this add-in tool you can download all available test cases names & their full path in to an excel sheet.
Please let me know if you have any deficulty in useing it.

Example: if you want to download all TC and Full path in a QC project then just give "Subject" as a path, if you want to download TC`s from a specific path then give the path of the TC ("Subject\Folder1\Folder2").

Note: The folder should have at least one child folder in it.

Installing Add-in :

Pre-requisite: Before you use the QCTCdownload add-in, make sure that Microsoft
Excel and Quality Center Client are installed on your machine.
Unzip “QCAdd-in_APM.zip” and copy QCTCdownload.xla file to Microsoft office Start up location.
Microsoft Start up location
<drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\XLStart.

For example, location for Microsoft Excel 2007
<drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART


How it works:
Add-in can only download following Quality Center fields in to Excel from given QC url and project:
Module Field Name Field Lable Description
Test Plan TS_NAME Test Name Test Case Name
Test Plan TS_SUBJECT TC Path Subject path of TC

Instruction to download data from Quality Center:
In Excel, open the HP Quality Center Download wizard:
Excel 2003. Choose Tools > Import Data > HP Quality Center.
Excel 2007. Click the Add-ins tab and click the Import Data from HP Quality Center button.
The Quality Center Download Wizard opens
Type QC URL,Domain, Project and your user name, password.
And give subject path (Ex: Exp: Subject\Foldername).
Then Click on “Get Data” button.
You will get a confirmation message, Click on “OK”.
You can see data is pulled from Quality Center and prints in active excel sheet.
Wait till the “Download Completed” message is displayed.
